WWAMI is a partnership between the University of Washington School of Medicine and the states of Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho that provides publicly supported medical education for the five-state region. UI and WSU » More … Dr. Johnson grew up in Rawlins and attended medical school through the WWAMI Medical Education Program – a medical school partnership between Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. She attended her first year of medical training at the University of Wyoming, and then moved to the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. The WWAMI acronym represents the five western states that send medical school students to the University of Washington on state-sponsored reduced tuition.

WMS is accepting applications for any physician member of WMS who wants to be considered for appointment to this Committee. The physician selected will serve a three-year term with an option to serve a second three-year term. The WWAMI Track program allows a select group of students to be scheduled for a minimum number of weeks (24 weeks for Patient Care Phase*, 12 weeks for the Explore & Focus Phase*) in one specific city or state in the WWAMI region. The WWAMI program reserves twenty seats each year for qualified Wyoming residents.The current WWAMI class began course work in August, 2020 and will complete 18 months of studies here at the University of Wyoming before moving on to clerkships.
